Congratulations to Students and Staff
on the BEST GCSE results EVER!
About Us
Archbishop Grimshaw School is a large Roman Catholic, voluntary-aided comprehensive school in the north of Solihull, in the diocese of Birmingham. We have in excess of 1100 students on roll, mixed gender and between 11 & 18 years of age.
Our mission statement is
'Love God, love your neighbour, love yourself'
and this underpins all that we do and strive for.
Founded 37 years ago, the school has recently moved into a brand new building which was built as part of the BSF initiative. This offers us the opportunity to design a school whose structures and systems meet the future needs of the learning community we serve.
In recognition of AGS's outstanding record of achievements in arts (Art, Performing Arts, Drama, Dance and Music), the raising of a substantial sum of money and the submission of a formal bid, in July 2005 the school was informed that we have been awarded Arts Specialist School Status.
The academic performance of the school has improved by nearly 60% at GCSE (5A*-C) over the past four years, reflecting the great efforts of our administrative and managerial teams, staff and especially our pupils.
We have strong links with our local community, especially in sports and recreation, which will be further enhanced with our rebuild and as a specialist Arts College
